Living is When There's Always "Change"

My friends know that I like to change jobs and I confess that it is true. But when I joined Indah Water I was 37 years old. And now I am already 40, and I have actually more or less decided to settle down in this company. The working environment is pleasant so far and I have a clear career path for the next 2 years.

So when MILS called me for an interview few months back, I hesitated. Nevertheless, I have always advised those who asked not to disregard interviews. No harm in attending interviews, is there? In fact, I think it’s good. Nothing to lose, but probably some good things to gain. So I attended. It was informal. At Coffee Bean Subang Parade.

Later I was offered the job. I tried to decline but they somehow ‘checkmated’ me. I had no way to decline without leaving bad impression to them and I seriously didn’t want that! So I had to accept, hesitantly. In fact, I am still hesitant about accepting this offer.

But acceptance had been made and the contract of service was technically effected. So I will be leaving Indah Water soon. It was quite a shock to me when the Head of Human Resource in Indah Water actually told me that if I felt that I couldn’t take the daily commute (100 km return trip daily), then I should give her a call and she would take me back in! Didn’t expect that from an Iron Lady who was responsible for drafting the policy that Indah Water would not re-employ ex-Indahan!

Anyways, I appreciate the offer. But I would like to give this new career a shot. Living is when there are changes. So if I want to continue living, I should adapt to the changes. This is, indeed, a big change in anybody’s life, isn’t it? I might have to change my plan to settle down. But I have a target – I want to be in MISC Bhd. in 2 years time. I want to settle down in MISC Bhd.

Another One Got Hitched - Congratulations Moon!!

They solemnised their marriage a few days ago in Klang, Selangor (Bride's home) and had their first grand reception in KL. A second one a few hours ago at Crowne Plaza Hotel, where we had our "first" reunion way back in December 2005, after so many left the company, the birthplace of K-Oz. Only this time it was at 30th floor penthouse with the open air area for the cocktail pre-dinner reception.

CONGRATULATIONS MOON ( & Bride, Meen)! WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!! We hope to organise a small reception for K-Oz friends to be introduced to Meen, some times soon, after you are done with ur third reception in KB.

Alhamdulillah, kawan dan adinda kawan, era, telah selamat dinikahkan pada hari sabtu 2hb Jun 2007, jam 9.30 malam di rumah orang tua kawan di taman uda, johor bahru. Kami cuma adakan majlis yang ringkas sahaja, iaitu hanya upacara akad nikah dan jamuan makan. Para jemputan cuma saudara mara yang rapat, jiran2 dan kawan2 yang terdekat. Kad jemputan tak buat, cuma jemput mulut.

Imam yang menikahkan kami ialah Imam Mahad (Datuk), imam besar Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar. Kebetulan dia ni saudara mak kawan, maka mak kawan memang request dia untuk nikahkan kami. Seperti yang janjikan, imam mahad tiba di rumah kawan selepas waktu Isyak, iaitu kira-kira pukul 9.30 malam.

Segala persiapan untuk majlis malam tu kawan buat secara ala kadar sahaja. Hidangan yang kami sediakan pada malam tu ialah nasi beriani lauk daging masak beriani, ayam masak merah, laksa johor dan rojak petis. Semuanya dimasak sendiri oleh keluarga kawan dan dibantu jiran2.

Rombongan adinda kawan dari seberang tiba lebih kurang pukul 9mlm. Sedara mara adinda kawan yang datang lebih kurang 20 org. Member2 sepejabat adinda kawan dari seberang yang datang lebih kurang 20 org. Member2 dia semua excited sebab mereka tu semua bukan melayu (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Greek, American dan Indian) so mereka rasa macam best sangat dapat pergi majlis kami, majlis orang melayu.

Kawan memang tak hebahkan sangat dengan member2 berita tentang kawan akan bernikah. Kawan cuma beritahu dan jemput member2 pejabat kawan di JB je. Member2 kat KL, kawan cuma beritahu dan jemput zahrin dan yasmin je (member baik kawan masa di ITM dulu). Member2 yang lain2 kawan tak beritahu lebih-lebih lagi pada member2 yang kenal dengan bekas isteri kawan dan tak tahu yang kawan dah bercerai. Bukannya kawan nak berahsia sangat tentang pernikahan kawan kali yang ke-dua ni cuma kawan belum bersedia untuk bercakap pasal perceraian kawan dengan bekas isteri kawan.

Hari sabtu 29 Dis 2007 yang lepas kawan rasa sudah tibalah masanya untuk kawan beritahu dan kenalkan adinda kawan pada member2 k-oz. Kepada member2 k-oz yang berkesempatan berjumpa dengan adinda kawan di izzi hari tu, kawan ucapkan terima kasih kerana sambutan baik yang telah diberikan. Mohon doa restu dari kawan2 agar rumahtangga kami kekal dan bahagia.

Alhamdulillah, adinda kawan juga senang dengan ahli2 k-oz yang ada di izzi pada hari tu. The food was good, restoran tu best dan the reunion was great. We are also looking forward for the next reunion.

It's A Reunion... Almost!!!

2007 have been filled with ups and downs for K-Oz members. And finally on 29th December 2007 half of the gang met up at IZZI for lunch and laughters!!!

Umbrella

Ok, let me tell you something. I used to hate this song. I know it is a HUGE song and everybody seems like so into it. For me, it's soo annoying. Everytime I hear the song on the radio, I get irritated. Well, Rihanna's version I mean. Although I think the remix version with Chris Brown is kinda cute (I am looking the one with the glass slipper, you can be my cinderella, ella ella eh eh). hahaah. However, one thing that I like about the song is the sweet lyrics. If you listen carefully, the lyrics basically about being your loved ones's shelter or something like it.

Anyway, one day i heard on radio this lovely acoustic version of the song and i instantly fell in love with it. It was by this one girl named Marie Digby, she did this cover version on youtube and BAM! now it's like a phenomenon. She even appeared on tv, on the Carson Daly show. You can search youtube for marie digby and she has her page there. Very cute (I am sure Lampin would love this haha) and has this raw, lovely voice. She did a lot of cover versions. Check her out.

Anyway back to the song, Mandy Moore also sang an acoustic version during her Yahoo Live performance too. Me likey!! Mandy's version is more mellow and soft and sweet. I put both videos here, so check them out if you guys have time.

Night with Samsons

I miss this blog. It has been quiet for awhile. Hey korang, why nobody update anything? We can use this as a way for us to well tell each other whats happening in our live. Jomla... Anyway, biar jan la bercerita hari ni.

Last night jan pergi concert samsons. Free concert of some sort. Digi sponsored. Jan pun tak tau, my friend yg arrange for the tickets. It was at Dewan Wawasan, Menara PGRM. First time la jan pergi free concert and have to stand in the crowd. Samsons was great, but the crowd is not really my thing. At times, Jan takut jugak. I mean, Jan tak pernah kot gi concert without a male member of my family or friends. Last night was just me and my friend Ain. I thought it was a seated concert, since cam well dewan tu kecikkan. Tapi kitaorg cam shocked skit la cam dua2 pun cam nervous la.. alamak.. kena diri camni ke. Dah la nak start lambat, so lama la ngan org2 pushing and sticky yucks.. about 930 baru start. Samsons performance was great, vocal best giler. and he is so cute!! hahaha.. but i dont know most of the songs, I only know 3 songs from the band - Kenangan Terindah, Bukan Diriku and Naluri Lelaki. Kenangan Terindah was awesome, best sgt!!! Tapi i wass sooo disappointed sebab dorang tak nyanyi bukan diriku. I was looking forward to it so much! I was nervous when some guys nearby sort of like acting wild, mcm duduk atas bahu and tak pakai baju, bwk banner something relating to the band's country of origin. But we were near in front, depan ada polis and some security people so cam ok la kan. The concert ended around 1030la.

Overall, Jan cam starting to like the band la, I really like the new song, Kisah Tak Sempurna, pretty heartbreaking, eventho cam tak paham sgt lyrics nyer hahah. My friend tu minat giler ngan dorang ni so it sort of rubbed on to me too. But from this experience, rasa cam tak nak dah la gi free concert. Hahahha i rather pay and rasa more safe and comfortable. I've been to quite a number of concerts and this was the only one yang made me kinda nervous. hahah takpela..experience kan? Bila lagi.
